Strengthening regional cooperation and development

 
 

           Our general objective of this project is to contribute to the creation of stable Western Balkan Region focused on development and respect for diversity. In this line we are creating conditions for CCI sustainability and enhancing regional partnership with TALDi in order to promote civil society values and contribute to effective dialogue and transfer of good practices in the West Balkan region.

The strengthened partnership between CCI and TALDi has contributed to the positioning of the both NGOs in their respective countries through:

  • Promotion of the regional approach of project  through providing trainings for civic participation for the Unit of the Local Government representatives and NGOs;
  • Strengthening the civil society sector in Macedonia through mentoring support from CCI and TALDi to 3 NGOs in Macedonia in the area of conflict transformation;
  • Exchange of experiences in LED and decentralization as to position CCI and TALDi in the region for being recognizable to the Units of the local governments for enhancing regional cooperation and development of regional projects contributing to regional stability.

        The project being complex and obtaining few segments has created very good conditions for continuation of the activities in year 2 and year 3.

        The first year of the project realization (July 2006 – July 2007) was focused on the following:

  • CCI ID/OD strengthening with TALDi mentor support;
  • Transfer of experiences between Center for Civic Initiative (CCI) and TALDi in the areas of Decentralization process (Experience from Macedonia) and Local economical development  (Experience from Bosnia and Herzegovina);
  • Work with three (3) selected non – governmental (NGOs) organizations from R. Macedonia on project realizations related to peace and conflict issues and capacity building of the selected NGOs using ZIG ZAG methodology of work;
  • Work  with Units of the Local governments and NGOs  from Macedonia on providing trainings for civic inclusion
  • Delivering and organizing a training for Financial management to NGOs and other interested parties

              The project is being realized in the period of 01.07.2006 – 01.07.2009, and financed by CORDAID, MCIC and the East East Program of Foundation Institute Open Society.
