The main aim of this project was to support the process of creating stable region in Western Balkan where the differences will be valued and contribution will be made towards the development of the democratic processes. Moreover, this project aimed at creating conditions for sustainable functioning of our organization and encouraging the regional partnership with the nongovernmental organization Taldi – Tuzla, so that the values of the citizen sector can be promoted and it will result in fruitful dialog exchange of good experience in the West Balkan region.

The enhanced partnership between CCI and Taldi contributed towards the positioning of the two nongovernmental organizations in their countries through:

  • Promotion of regional approach of the project through providing trainings for citizen participation to representatives of ULS and nongovernmental organizations. 20 municipalities received trainings for applying to the European funds IPA, and some of them started the application process
  • Strengthening the citizen sector in R. Macedonia through monitoring support given by CCI and Taldi to 3 nongovernmental organizations in R. Macedonia which work in the field of conflict transformation.
  • Exchange of experiences regarding the local economic development and decentralization with the aim of positioning the CCI and Taldi in the region so as to make them distinguishable to the units of the local government.

This exchange of experiences aimed at encouraging the regional cooperation and development and creating joint projects among the institutions so that it will result in regional stability in West Balkan.

The project was realized in the period of 01.07.2006 – 01.07.2009, funded by CORDAID, MCIC, and East East Program Open Society Institute
