In light of the recent experience in south Serbia and west Macedonia (2001), the Committee for Civic Initiative Niš, (Serbia and Montenegro), as a leader organization and the Centre for Civil Initiative from Prilep (FYROM) as a regional partner, implemented the project Question of Guilt and the Answer of Responsibility – Path to the Future
The general aim of the project was to create necessary conditions for the restoration of interethnic trust and the establishment of interethnic cooperation in the Western Balkans, actually, to create public opinion which would demand a full truth on wars and conflicts in the former Yugoslavia; to insist on punishing individuals guilty of war crimes; to undertake activities which would encourage countries, communities, and individuals to become ready to face the past of wars and conflicts and take responsibility for their own doing or undoing.
The project objective was delivering training to 40-60 participants - journalists, young political party activists, NGO activists from Serbia and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia - (10 to 15 from Nis, Vranje, Prilep and Tetovo) for active engagement in public and political life.
The program was realized through a workshop cycle of 12 workshops in Vranje and Niš (S&Mn) and Tetovo and Prilep (FYROM) and 6 workshops at the final seminar in Vranjska Banja (with top Serbian, Macedonian, and Albanian experts and civic activists as lecturers).
The period of project realization was from April 2005 to November 2005.
