Bringing closer the process of decentralization towards the citizens in the city of Prilep and the area around the city of Prilep was the aim of the project. Through the project activities we achieved:

- Introduced to the employees within the public institution with the challenges, which are expected with the process of decentralization. It was provided training and preparation for the changes that follow;

- Introduction and prepare the media for the important role they have, for better understanding of the process of the decentralization by the citizens.

- Prepared Neighborhood Units to cope with new competence and responsibilities.

The project aim was to influence over the citizen's awareness in the Republic of Macedonia (especially the citizens in the city of Prilep and the area around the city of Prilep), and to educate and raise awareness of the public officials.
Process of decentralization was explained through public campaign, tribunes, trainings and promotion of the good effects of new law changes. The project aim was accomplished through several activities: media campaign ( TV spot, flyers, brochures and poster); TV programs, public tribunes, trainings for public officials, monitoring of the work of the public institutions and Local Self Government, establishing of Coordinative Body at a city level, reactivation of the Neighborhood Units as models for increasing of the public awareness and informing the citizens about changes with decentralization process.
The project was funded by Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia-Skopje and the realization period was from 01.01.2005 to 31.12.2005
