"Active citizen" was a pilot project aiming at re-activation of institution Neighbourhood Unit in Prilep. The project aimed at linking the Local Government and Neighborhood Units in Prilep. CCI had the role of mediator and organizer of open meetings with the citizens, scanning of community needs, creating Community Action Plan. Namely, this project gathered for the first time the presidents of all local communities at a common meeting. This project also provided local community managers with a meeting with Local Government and the Mayor of Prilep.The meetings organized by some local communities, a huge number of citizens' phone calls, as well as the concrete activities taken by the citizens in their environment are proofs of project's motivating influence.
The project was funded by Royal Dutch Embassy in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, and was realized from September 01, 2003 to December 31, 2003.
