Sharing regional experience in usage of CAT

         The members of the Psycho Social Unit (CCI Center for Civic Initiative – Prilep. ARCT – Albanian Rehabilitation Center for Trauma and Torture, KRCT – Kosova/o Rehabilitation Center for Trauma and Torture – Tirana and IAN – International Aid Network – Serbia) included in the SEE RAN network considering the results of the process of developing and testing of CAT tools and methods, stated their will to work again on usage of developed CAT tools and methods starting with the project “Sharing of regional experiences for usage of CAT tools and methods”

         Activities in Macedonia:

         Organizing Training of Trainers, CCI educated primary school teachers in the rural areas (Municipality Krivogashtani) and preschool teachers from Prilep, that shared the gained knowledge with their colegues which enabled them to design, produce and use in daily work tools for psihosocial intervention.     

         Aiming at awareness rizing of the pupils on the subject of the cultural mechanisms for cooping with trauma CCI conducted workshops for primary school children in the Municipality of Krivogashtani for usage of CAT tools and methods, mostly stories that are the main catalyst for awakening of children’s creativity.    

         In Albania – Albanian Rehabilitation Center for trauma and torture (ARCT) worked on education of 20 teachers in primary education and 20 teachers in the kindergartens in Tirana that are enabled for designing production and usage in the daily practice the tools for psychosocial intervention. 10 pupils from Tirana are introduces with the mechanisms of cultural cooping with trauma. The level of awareness of the community, teachers and parents about the cultural aspects of trauma is increased.

         In Kosovo – Kosovo Rehabilitation Center for trauma and torture (KRCT) trained 20 teachers from primary school and 20 teachers from Kindergartens in Prishtina are trained for CAT tools and methods and 10 pupils from the primary schools are introduced with the mechanisms for cooping with trauma. 

         In Serbia – International Aid Network – IAN are developed 3 new modules from the Life Skill Program, that are applied on 24 high school students and 1 module applied on one group of 12 high school students. The members of Psycho Social Units (13 persons) are trained about the 10 modules of the Life Skill Program.

        We started and we are continuing the process of advocacy in the Ministry of Education presenting the possibilities of CAT tools and methods.

 In Macedonia

  • Educated 20 teacher from primary schools in the rural area (municipality Krivogashtani) and 20 teachers in the kindergartens in Prilep for usage of CAT tools and methods
  • Presented mechanisms for cultural cooping with trauma to 10 pupils from rural area (municipality Krivogashtani)
  • Increased the level of awareness at the community, teachers and parents about cultural aspects of trauma
  • Presenting of the work of PS Unit in front of the representatives of the Ministries of Education from Macedonia, Albania, Serbia and Kosovo, that is a step forward in the advocacy and inclusion of the CAT tools and methods in the regular curricula.

    The project was realized in the period from 01.04.2007 – 01.04.2008, and was financed by the Danish Ministry for Foreign Affairs – Neighborhood Program
