Human trafficking is a phenomenon that exists all around the world and each year few thousand people are becoming its victims. As a result of accidental factors, including also the economic instability and the fall of the life standard, the criminal network finds ground for development of its illegal activities. The low level of public awareness and unknowing of the consequences and the effect of this phenomenon completes this scenario and increases the work of human trafficker in this region. That is a dark side of the globalization and we have to deal with it.

Because one of the working programs of CCI is the protection of the human rights, we have dedicated our work on this new challenge for us, aiming at prevention on the public for foreseeing of this problem a finding of prevention measures for protection of human trafficking, as to give our contribution towards the realization of the National Action Plan for prevention of human trafficking and illegal migration in Republic of Macedonia.

That is why we started the realization of this project in partnership with Women Safe House from Podgorica, Montenegro.

Our aim was informing young people for the complexity of this fast growing phenomenon, to act preventively and to protect them from the danger of lapsing in the huge chain of human trafficking. Also our aim was building of our capacities for this problem, as building of the capacities of the Social Workers and the NGO sector.

We started working on education for prevention from human trafficking with the Centers for Social Work, NGOs and high school youth and conducted informational campaign in the high schools for prevention of human trafficking.

With the activities of this project we have enabled education and capacity building for prevention of human trafficking of 40 NGO representatives and 20 social workers from Prilep, Bitola, Ohrid and Struga.

We have realized an informational campaign over 600 high school students in Prilep , Ohrid and Struga for their informing about human trafficking, also education of 75 high school students in the targeted areas fro prevention of human trafficking.

Trough this project CCI gave its contribution in identifying and understanding of the basic forms for prevention of human trafficking, and motivating of the young people to be actively included in the combat against human trafficking.
