The Center for Civic Initiative and Common Values – Skopje, together are realizing this project on the territory of Southwest Macedonia (municipalities: Prilep, Krivogashtani and Krushevo) and Skopje (municipalities: Gazi Baba, Cair, Butel).
The aim of this project is inclusion of the vulnerable groups in creating of local policies and creating of mechanisms for protection.
The project trough its activities craves for building of the capacities of the Commissions for Gender issues and equal opportunities in the Local Self-government Units and to strengthen the capacities of the civic organizations that are working on the field of human rights in this region.
The capacities of the Commissions for gender issues and equal opportunities and of the NGOs included in this project will be increased regarding to lobbing and advocacy, implementation of laws addressing human rights, awareness rising about importance of inclusion of the vulnerable groups of women and children in the social life, creating of policies and support of the municipalities Prilep and Skopje in networking and sharing knowledge with other interested parties.
Commissions for gender issues and equal opportunities aiming at the contribution towards effective cooping with problems of the vulnerable groups will analyze the implementation of the following laws: Law for Equal Opportunities, Law for children rights, Family Law and the Law for Social Protection, pointing at the difficulties that could appear during their implementation in concrete cases.
Strengthening of the capacities will be done trough workshops with SWOT analysis and will be prepared programs for the Commissions under mentorship of CCI and Common Values and all that will be incorporated in a manual that the Commissions will be able to use for the vulnerable groups.
The awareness rising about the importance of the inclusion of the vulnerable groups in creation of the local policies will be done with distribution of information flyers and organizing of public debates. The proactive work of the Commissions and the Civic organizations will be based on analyses of the needs and the problems in the Communities and realizing of training of trainers of other interested parties under mentorship of CCI and Common Values.
The realization of the project will contribute towards bigger respect of the human rights trough more effective work of the NGOs oriented at human rights and at the Commissions for gender issues and equal opportunities.
The project is in realization in the period from 05.10.2007 – 05.08.2008 and is financed by European Commission (European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights)
